Difference between moisturizing shampoo and clarifying shampoo

Shampoos have gotten a bad rep among naturals for drying out hair and many have switched to Co-wash,AVC rinse,Baking soda. Some of us still use shampoo every other week or month, so this is going to help us decide when we need a moisturizing shampoo or a clarifying one.

WHAT IS CLARIFYING SHAMPOO
Clarifying shampoos are designed to remove stubborn build-up like slippery silicones, waxes, moisturizers or plain old gunk from your regular shampoo, conditioner or styling products (including hair oils, mousses, hairsprays and dry shampoo) from your hair. Clarifying shampoos also help to lift away mineral deposits from hard water, and the chlorine and other chemicals that stick to hair in a swimming pool. Clarifying shampoos are not to be used daily  cause o it harsh quality of stripping the hair dry.

WHEN TO USE A CLARIFYING SHAMPOO
1) If you are a product junkie : Too much of Products that are not water-soluble, like heavy oils and silicone-based ingredients that are found in everyday conditioners, moisturizers, mousses, gels, serums and hairsprays, can build up on the hair and cause it to feel limp, icky and lifeless. A regular moisturizing shampoo won’t be able to lift these stubborn ingredients. You’ll need to use a clarifying shampoo to remedy this build-up.
2) You have been swimming : A clarifying shampoo will help you get your hair back to normal after chlorine exposure and will prevent unnecessary damage to the hair.
3) You use it monthly: Clarifying your hair can be done as a monthly refresher, and it will give your hair a fresh clean slate for products each month.

WHAT IS MOISTURIZING SHAMPOO
Moisturizing shampoos have the ability to clean the hair and scalp, but aren’t as harsh as clarifying shampoos. It will clean the hair but not strip it. Moisturizing shampoos can be used daily or every other day.
